Scott Powell brings nearly four decades of propulsion expertise in some of the world’s premier aerospace programs. He spent 38 years at Boeing, both as a propulsion engineer and leading propulsion development programs including engine integration, installations and design, power generation systems, and certification. At Boeing, Scott managed complete propulsion integrated product teams through design and development, qualification, and flight testing for legendary airframes such as the B-52J, KC-46 Tanker, 787-8/9, Joint Strike Fighter, YF-22, and the B-2. Most recently, Scott served as the Propulsion Integrated Product Team leader for the B-52J Commercial Engine Replacement Program.
Scott has deep expertise in propulsion program management, mitigating and developing solutions for complex program risks, and leading large product organizations and integrated product teams. He has extensive experience working with top tier suppliers and engine manufacturers, and is an expert in multiple certifications for a wide range of civil and military propulsion systems.
As the former Senior Vice President of the Symphony program for Boom Supersonic, Scott Powell led the development and integration of Symphony, the bespoke propulsion system for Overture. Scott graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and studied Aeronautics at the University of Washington.
